Fun and free! Mother Goose on the Loose
I took my kids to the Mother Goose on the Loose program today at the Roseville Downtown Library (by Royer Park) and it was a lot of fun! My kids loved it and the teacher was great. For now it is on Thursdays from 10:30 - 11:00 (I believe the schedule changes at the end of February). The teacher told me that she also does a playgroup and Mother Goose class at the Riley Library, although I can't find the exact day/time right now. If anyone is interested in going with me next Thursday to the downtown program, let me know.
Placer County Libraries (includes Rocklin and Granite Bay) also do storytime and Mother Goose on the Loose programs, days and times are listed HERE. If that link doesn't work you can go to http://www.placer.ca.gov/Departments/Library/Storytime.aspx.
A fun and free pre-reading activity for our kiddos that are not in school yet - give it a try!

ISO List - January
One of our moms emailed me and is looking for a crib, and in the same week another emailed asking if I knew anyone selling a double jogger. This is a great excuse to kick off the MOPS Marketplace idea. So here is our first post. You can contact me if you have something to sell/buy/trade and I will forward your email to the person who posted and you can then email that person directly.
ISO (in search of) a used crib in good condition.

"Park" Day Tomorrow at Galleria Mall
Tomorrow morning we will be meeting at the mall for a little winter "park" day. We will be at the old play place, near Sears and Macy's from 9:00am - 10:30am. It is the play place that is nearest to the Starbucks kiosk. Depending on how it goes, we may decide to migrate over to the new play place (in the newer branch of the mall, near the baby and maternity stores) after a little while. Hope to see many of you there! I will be there with my crazy kids.

Amy Carmichael Poem
Hi everyone. Today I was reading an online deovtional that I like, and I thought I would share this poem with you all. It is written by Amy Carmichael. The devotional is by Elisabeth Elliot and can be read daily at backtothebible.org. You go to the Bible studies and devotions page and click on the Elisabeth Elliot link in the list of daily devotionals. -Carly
A prayer written by Amy Carmichael has been my prayer as long as I have been a mother, and I pray it now for my grandchildren:
Father, hear us, we are praying,
Hear the words our hearts are saying,
We are praying for our children.
Keep them from the powers of evil
From the secret, hidden peril,
From the whirlpool that would suck them,
From the treacherous quicksand pluck them,
Holy Father, save our children.
From the worldling's hollow gladness,
From the sting of faithless sadness,
Through life's troubled waters steer them,
Through life's bitter battle cheer them,
Father, Father, be Thou near them.
Read the language of our longing,
Read the wordless pleadings thronging,
Holy Father, for our children.
And wherever they may bide,
Lead them Home at eventide
