MOPS team being put together by Angela

I want to remind everyone to think about joining me on May 9 to Race for the Cure.

I know it is Mother's Day weekend, so consider asking your sister/mother/daughter to walk too, what better way to spend time together than walking for a cause that effects thousands of women each day?

If you cannot participate, please consider either contributing a donation (even $5 or $10 adds up!) or registering for "Sleep in for the Cure." To do this, follow the link below and click on "register," then "accept" the disclaimer, select "join a team;" select "Creekside Mops" from the pull down; fill in all the needed info and select "Sleep in for the Cure." You will still count towards our team total and you will receive a t-shirt commemorating the event.

I hope you will think about joining me, the deadline for registering is THIS Friday at midnight.

Thanks!

Race for the Cure - Creekside MOPS Team!

Hi everybody!
I have decided to join the fight against breast cancer and hope you will, too! On Saturday May 9 the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® 5K walk will take place at Cal Expo. We now have a Creekside Mops team and I'm hoping we can walk together to show our support for those who have gone before us, who are currently suffering, and for our children - that they may live in a world which is free from breast cancer.

Please follow this link:

http://komen.kintera.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=301523

and register as part of a team - select Creekside Mops and you'll be part of an event that "has changed the way the world views breast cancer. You can make a difference as you celebrate survivorship, honor those who have lost their battle, and most importantly, raise funds and awareness for the fight against this life threatening disease."

thanks! we'll have a great time,
~angela glover

p.s. young children are welcome in strollers, and older children may walk with us. if you have any questions, email me at adglover12 @ gmail.com (no spaces)

EGG HUNT CANCELLED

Its just a bit too wet outside and the rain may still come down on us when we're out there, so we are going to cancel the egg hunt this morning. You can use the eggs you prepared for this morning to do a little egg hunt around your own house. Have a wonderful Easter!

Bread Deal!

This just in from an email sent to me by Jo:

In light of the economic crunch, etc..., I thought other moms might like to know that the Orowheat/Entemann's bread outlet on Auburn Blvd in Citrus Heights is freakin' awesome. My family LOVES bread, and I stop there about once a month on my way to work, spend $10-$15, and have bread/tortillas/bagels for a whole month. I just freeze the extras and thaw as needed. They also have donuts/coffee cake, etc...even at Winco, I would pay $3-4 a loaf for Orowheat brand, and here it's $1.99 a loaf. Just thought I'd share my little carb secret. -Jo

Happy Easter! Egg Hunt this Friday!

This Friday we will be having our annual Easter egg "hunt" at Elliott Park in Roseville. We will play at the park and then have 2 egg hunts - one for the little kids and one for older kids. There will be special eggs in the field that can be traded in for a special little prize! Please bring 1 dozen eggs filled with some sort of goodie (candy, stickers, tiny toys, etc.) for each child that will be participating in the hunt. Feel free to bring any siblings that are out of school for Spring Break, and bring filled eggs for them too.

Here are directions to the park as if you were coming south 65. Apparently its a little tricky to see the street signs, so pay extra attention and look it up on a map site if you want to have a better idea of where you're heading.

Elliott Park
1412 Cushendall Drive

65 South
Exit Pleasant Grove, turn right
Left on Woodcreek Oaks Blvd
Right on Junction Blvd
Left on Cushendall Drive
---> after about a 1/4 mile on Cushendall you will see the park on your right

There is a housing development with a sign where you turn on Cushendall that says "Silverado Creek" if that helps you recoginze where to turn. If you miss the turn at Cushendall you can make a U-turn at Park Regency Dr. Hope to see you all there at 10am! If you wake up on Friday and its raining, we are going to cancel the egg hunt all together. I will post again on Friday at 8:00am if we are going to cancel.
